While I prefer the 1892 action design for more nostalgic old west appeal over Marlin 1894, the Marlins do have them all hands down for adding optics for more precise groups at distance. Yet, at the age of 68, I have only owned 2 Marlins and they were both bolt action rimfires.

Just watched a video on the new Ruger Marlin 336 in .30-30 and I'll admit, it's a nice rifle. Now, Ruger loaned the rifle to this guy to test, so no doubt they gave him a good one. One thing I like is, no microgroove rifling! They should shoot cast just fine. What I don't like, they kept the stupid crossbolt safety.
